Journey to Eden: A 9-month Guided Spiritual Journey

A Prayerfully Curated, Fully Immersive and Thoroughly Embodied Small Group Experience for Women

The Invitation

Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. I make you trustees over my estate.” Genesis 1:28

In the beginning, God had a beautiful dream to see sons and daughters living in intimate union with Him and working alongside Him to see all of creation flourish and function the way He intended.

Journey to Eden was born out of God’s heart to reconnect His daughters to this dream and is designed to transform, equip, and mobilize a generation of women who desire to become more like Jesus and lovingly engage culture with His Kingdom principles.

This experience aspires to provide an intergenerational journey of spiritual formation and discipleship, that empowers emerging leaders of all ages to grow in intimacy with God and others, to discover their divine calling, and to develop their unique gifts and abilities for the purpose of influencing areas of culture in need of Kingdom transformation.

The Outline

Journey to Eden will engage four distinct formational movements that address key themes and questions of life and meaning over the course of 9 months.

  • • Month One: The Spiritual Journey-Where do I find myself on the spiritual journey and what is God’s invitation to me?

    • Month Two: Image of God- Who is God, really?

    • Month Three: Identity- Who am I, really?

  • • Month Four: Hearing God/Discernment- How do I know and follow God’s voice?

    • Month Five: Meaningful Intergenerational Relationships- Am I really known and loved by anyone?

  • • Month Six: Calling and Vocation- Who was I created to become and how does that impact what I do?

  • • Month Seven: The Seven Mountains- How do I uniquely reflect God’s image and nature and in what area(s) of culture did God design me to carry His loving influence?

    • Month Eight: Go Into All the World- How do I practically live out God’s dream for me to leave a lasting impact and legacy on the earth?

    • Month Nine: All Things Made New- Celebrating God’s beautiful dream and our participation with Him in it.

 What Makes This Journey Different?

  • • This journey is not about accomplishing a program or learning more about God through intellectual study.

    • This is a journey designed to facilitate deep encounters of the soul with the person of God in the context of relationship through His Spirit.

    • Practices and exercises will look less like traditional teaching and learning about God from someone else, and instead more like road maps/guides to lead you into meeting with God and hearing what He wants to say to you Himself.

  • • This journey is designed to cultivate relational connection and a sense of belonging with women of every age group on the same journey towards knowing God more intimately and being formed into His image.

    • Recognizing that each generation has something important to both share with and learn from all the others, women from all ages are invited to share their insights, wisdom, and life experiences. We need each other, therefore, though I will provide the structure and direction for our journey, my hope is that each one of you will be empowered to accept the invitation to lead our group in different ways from time to time.

    • Journey to Eden desires to help participants develop greater cultural discernment in the context of relationships to empower each woman to apply Biblical wisdom to her life, develop a resilient faith in the face of cultural and societal pressures, and be better equipped to live faithfully as members of God’s Kingdom amid an increasingly secular world.

  • • Our formation into the image of Christ is never simply for our sake, but for the sake of the world around us.

    • In the context of this community, my hope is that each woman will come to discover her divine calling, gain a greater understanding of the unique gifts, talents and virtues God has equipped her with, and feel empowered and encouraged to live out her personal convictions and faith in her everyday life and work.

    • Each woman is invited to discover how her unique identity and purpose are a part of God’s grand narrative and Kingdom mandate to disciple nations through influence in the 7 key areas (aka “mountains) of culture, and how He is inviting her to play an important role in reforming society with Kingdom values and principles.

  • Our gatherings will be an ebb and flow of time together as a group and time alone with God.

    Periods of silence and solitude, as well as periods of group discussion and reflection will be incorporated.

    Each gathering will offer an introduction to new ways of knowing God through His Word, and new ways of experiencing God through prayer, relationships, creative tools, and the world around us.

  • This is an in-person experience. We will meet at my home in South Denver.

    Each month there will be additional, weekly spiritual exercises to be engaged in between monthly group sessions to deepen the work of each movement. Commitment to these weekly practices is essential for a deeper and more transformative experience on this spiritual journey.
